The Business Development Director job itself where you will work closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team of the business. Leading the implementation of a business development strategy that will drive growth in-line with our shareholder expectations and business blueprint.
- Main duties include working with the MD to agree, develop and own the delivery of strategic business development plans, objectives and initiatives.
- Provide the leadership and ownership in the business development function that will attract new customers and support the retention and growth of current customers across the business.
- Manage and lead the business development team, including continuous professional development plans, mentoring and performance management, meetings and reviews, organisational structure and other related activities.
- Lead and focus on implementation of combined sales and marketing plans for the business and its service products – with a robust focus on lead generation. This will include specific communication and PR initiatives, modern digital marketing approach, web and social media development. As well as working with the marketing team to lead the development and implementation of marketing plans, market research and information dossiers for assigned business activities, new key targets, customers, locations.

The successful Business Development Director will have the following skills and experience:
Several years of experience in a leadership role for a service business with a robust sales structure. As well as experience leading the business development function of a multi-activity or integrated services business, particularly soft FM services as well as several years of experience working in a dynamic sales environment with a high ‘field sales & digital sales contact centre’.
It is essential to have an appropriate range of professional qualifications related to the role i.e. CIM post graduate degree and Chartered MCIM; a high level of experience with social and/or network selling methods using B2B applications such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator and Showpad; and experience of establishing and using a cloud-based sales CRM and effective database.
