The challenging Business Development Manager job role which is sits within the specialist port services division of this reputable engineering products & services group. 

Your objectives will include: Understanding the expectations of port services as expressed in its business plans and implement actions to fulfil the requirements of the plans, contribute to the development of Business Plans for the near and long term as required, gain and maintain intelligence of the UK market with particular emphasis on the factors affecting port services, gain and maintain specialist knowledge of the culture and methods prevailing in the market and identify the means by which port services might operate within existing conditions or influence those of the future, develop the means by which business levels might be increases, promote all PS products in Ireland.

Your responsibilities will include:  Reporting business activities in accordance with current methods, efficient scheduling of activities, develop and pursue leads, pricing of products and services in line with Company Policy, maximisation of value addition to service orders via secondary selling e.g. sale of spare parts and components, efficient response to enquiries and orders (internal and external) to maximise customer satisfaction, liaison with relevant internal departments to maximise regional effectiveness and profitability, promote a positive company image.

You will have

  • Certificate/Diploma in an appropriate engineering or business discipline.
  • Technical and application knowledge of all relevant products.
  • Business development experience of B2B sales (capital and contractual goods/services).
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • High attention to detail both verbal and written.
  • IT skills (MS Office).
  • Flexibility in respect to frequent UK & European travel
