The Energy & Utilities Technician job, which is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly rated Building Services team as they are focused on growth, both in the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Engineers on a number of projects from concept strategies to post-completion evaluations. You will be undertaking a technical and project management role including liaising with utilities providers and helping developers manage the risk to development from existing and access to utility capacities.
This is an important role as the management of risk posed by utility infrastructure on a successful building project is paramount to its success. Issues such as capacity shortages, encroachment on sites, ageing assets and commercial opportunities are increasingly requiring a skill set to manage. Plus, with the shift to a net-zero carbon future; electric cars, heat pumps and a general greater focus on electric futures, the importance of our industry has never been greater. As part of the work, you will assist in developing new ways to work in this new energy world.
You will have
To be successful as Energy & Utilities Technician you will have:
- Practical experience in the Energy and/or Utilities sector would be an advantage,
- Applied knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, financial models and smart technologies
- Ability to work in a team environment or independently when required
- Ability to be organised and to adhere to pre-defined measurements procedures
- A-level in maths/sciences or equivalent
