This Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical Multiskilled) role which is permanent, working a regular 8-5 day shift plus one week in 8 6-2 & 1 week in 8 2-10.
You will supplement the mechanical engineering team of the company and work within a team of engineers to provide breakdown cover for the cheese production facility, in addition to the mechanical engineering role, this role will require the operation and maintenance of steam boilers operation, water treatment systems and cooling towers.
It is required that, on completion of a probationary period, the position will be part of a weekly on call rota, providing out of hours “first responder” assistance in a timely manner
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- General mechanical engineering on site with a best in field approach.
- Measurement and analysis of equipment using predictive maintenance techniques.
- Boiler operation and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Operation of cooling towers and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Operation of water treatment systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Operation of compressed air systems and maintenance and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Operation and stocking of the mechanical engineering stores.
- Equipment servicing- valves pumps etc as per the prescribed maintenance plans.
- To provide front line, out of hours on call cover on a rota basis.
As we are a food manufacturer attention to detail is paramount in all aspects of the business particularly in Engineering, to provide an audit trail for all engineering works. It is expected that the position holder will work the Saturday morning during the on call week to undertake maintenance work, other weekend working is on a voluntary basis where time in lieu or remuneration can be requested subject to the company’s rules.

To be considered for this Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical Multiskilled) role, you will:
- Boiler house management preferably BOAS;
- Time served apprenticeship training
- Electrical awareness training;
- Two years similar experience.
- Flexible attitude with ability to communicate clearly at all levels.

- Generous Salary of £34, 808 inclusive of £83PW shift allowance
- 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
