Working freelance/contract for this global temporary facility builder, and integrated FM and Logistics provider. This company has recently won a contract to build a number of temporary buildings, including Offices, Canteens, Welfare facilities, Medical room, Warehouses and a Training facility, in support of a major construction and engineering project in the Waterside area of Southampton. Opportunities exist with the company on the project which is likely to start around early September until November 2019. There is a strong possibility that the role could be extended to March 2020.

The Project Controls Specialist job itself where you will utilise your experience as a Project Specialist to support and coordinate project management through analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Maintain budgets and schedules to conform to project requirements and support monthly financial projections by analysing consultant, employee and subcontract labour. Coordinate and compile input from team members and various weekly reports. Develop and maintain work breakdown structure and prepare diagrams, graphs and charts to analyse problems. Monitor project execution to achieve maximum effectiveness for the project. Oversee and report performance and progress through analytical techniques to validate cost and performance. Minimize company commercial risk through accountability of major project decisions. Identify areas of material and labour cost improvement. Provide input on ways to improvement site management, including health and safety, environmental impact, waste reduction and labour management and monitoring the stages of a project to make sure costs are kept in line with forecasts. Ensure compliance with Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) and generate and ensure compliance for Confined space entry, Excavations, Motorized heavy equipment, Energy Isolation, Hot works, On, near or over water. Follow hazard elimination program (HELP).
You will have
To be successful as Project Controls Specialist you will be an accomplished Project Controls Specialist with experience in the construction or engineering sectors with a fundamental understanding of Cost Management and Control in order to effectively manage the cost of a project. Good understanding of cost management terminologies, the cost management process, and how the cost control function works in a project. Knowledge how to allocate the budget and establish a cost baseline and be able analyse a cost report, detect issues, and effectively communicate the project’s cost performance, issues/ concerns and recovery plans to the project team. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a cost-control tool/software. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a high level of accuracy in calculations and design. Excellent time management skills to ensure project deadlines are met. Ideally you will have a valid CCNSG passport or relevant document and be able to follow safety rules as assigned by the Company. Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

As Project Controls Specialist you will receive £28K-£30K pro rata neg on a temporary worker basis. Overtime is a possibility. Minimum Holidays are expected to be taken from late July to November.
