The Project Engineer job itself which is a varies site based job overseeing $Multi-M projects underground & overground at fascinating facility. Your primary responsibility is to coordinates the activities, resources and tasks that relate to large & small capital projects. The scope runs across civil engineering, mechnical & electrical installation, heavy equipment procurement, building & facilities projects.
More specifically:
- Conducts project related tasks independently. Supports Project Manager in daily tasks and takes responsibility in their absence.
- Leads sub-projects under supervision of Project Manager.
- Assists in the preparation of Safety Documentation (SSOW, SSA, RAMS, Lift Planning)
- Ensures site team has all necessary resources to enable the project to be carried out successfully.
- Manages vendor relationships, relaying information between the project management and client.
- Ensures jobs costs are kept within cost audit quoted parameters and provides progress reports to Project Manager.
- Coordinates queries and escalates points of concern to appropriate stakeholders, monitoring resolution and updating all involved.
- Undertake succession planning and be groomed for Senior Leadership in reasonable timeframe due to retirements.
You will have
As Project Engineer, you will have
- Project Engineer 3-7 yrs exp
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering [Ideally Mechanical or Mining]
- Project Management experience in a manufacturing environment [heavy industry preferred]
- Certifications/Affiliations Required - EIT or P.Eng.
- Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skillset
- Self-motivated, requires little direction and seeks out opportunities to advance progress on commitments.
- Resourceful
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and non-technical language
- Knowledgeable of project management practices (scope development, planning and control, quality and cost control, risk management, procurement and contracting).
- Continuous learner – is self-aware and demonstrates a desire to broaden in the context of personal and professional development.
