The Project Engineer job itself which is a challenging role overseeing planning & delivery of $Multi-M projects. Your primary responsibility is to coordinates the communication, activities, resources and tasks that relate to large & small capital projects. The scope runs across civil engineering, mechnical & electrical installation, heavy equipment procurement, building & facilities projects.
More specifically:
- Ensure smooth flow of communication between all representatives on site, including tradespeople, contractors and consultants
- Develop long term project plans and descriptions
- Assist the budgeting, scope of work, request for proposals and bids for all new projects
- Coordinate with internal departments for each new project
- Attend meetings with external stakeholders (including First Nations and port authorities)
- Monitor project scope, scope and schedules
- Conduct meetings to evaluate progress and address issues
- Perform in house design/engineering work when needed
- Supervise contractors and consultants
- Ensure project documents and drawings are complete
- Evaluate project performance
You will have
As Project Engineer, you will have
- Degree in Engineering
- P. Eng or the ability to register for this professional designation in BC
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience focused on consulting, field services or construction management
- Experience working on heavy industrial sites
- Familiarity with bulk marine handling, conveyors, locomotives, railcars and material handling equipment is a major asset
